Computing and Applied Economics (BS)
We offer a diverse menu of possible concentrations within the economics major, and joint degree possibilities are described below.
- Bachelor of Arts: Suggested for students interested in a broad liberal arts economics background. This degree is excellent preparation for a wide range of careers, including law, and provides opportunities for engaging in a double major.
- Bachelor of Science: Suggested for students considering graduate study in economics or business administration, or professional careers in economics, business or the financial industries.
Within either degree, a student may choose to specialize in certain tracks that differ by subject matter and suitability for the type of post-graduate path the student plans to follow. For example, the Political Economy track is often chosen by law students, and the Mathematical Economics track is best suited for students planning to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics. The Applied Economics track is often combined with a Business degree.
Students who choose to double major commonly combine a B.S. in Economics with a math or science degree, while the B.A. is often combined with political science or international studies.
Under the Bachelor of Arts degree, we offer the following specialized Tracks.
Under the Bachelor of Science degree, we offer the following specialized Tracks:
We also offer a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Applied Economics.
Many students pursuing majors other than Economics will find that a Minor in Economics can be valuable.
