Sharmila King

Sharmila KingI joined Pacific in Fall 2001 after receiving my B.A. (honors) in Economics at the University of York, U.K. and my Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis. I am a macroeconomist specializing in monetary theory, international finance, and econometrics. I was born and educated in Great Britain and wrote my doctoral dissertation on the monetary policy transmission mechanism in the European Monetary Union.

My research and teaching interests are in monetary and macroeconomics and international finance. I co-edit a book International Economics, Globalization, and Policy: A Reader with McGraw-Hill. My most recent research investigates the effects of the European debt crisis on ECB monetary policy and the effects of income inequality on election outcomes.
