Celebrating Student Achievements
We are proud of our students' many accomplishments. Each year we honor a truly exceptional graduating senior with the Outstanding Graduate award. This award is given to a student who has not only earned a consistently high academic record, but who has also been actively involved in our discipline through activities, research, or special projects.
Meet Our Outstanding 2011 Graduate
Caleb Mayfield completed a B.S. degree with a double major in Economics and Business while focusing on the more quantitative aspects of both disciplines. We had a group of very talented students graduating this year, yet Caleb's academic accomplishments, evidenced by straight A's, truly stand out.
In addition to working part-time for Target, Caleb served as a teaching assistant for two different faculty members and as the student representative on our hiring committee. He was also the Economics Department's student liaison with prospective students.
Off to Grad School
- This summer Caleb Mayfield will work as an intern at the Federal Housing Finance Agency in Washington, D.C. and then enter the M.A. in Applied Economics program at Johns Hopkins University in Washington this fall.
- Justin Field was also admitted to Johns Hopkins, and Lindsey Ball was admitted to University of San Diego School of Law.
