"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are." Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Food Studies?
I would like to pursue a career and lifetime in studying food as it relates to the human experience - in immigrants, in daily life, in culture, identity...the opportunities are endless!

What topic have you found most compelling in your studies?
Reading food literature.

What is something that has surprised about the field of Food Studies?
That there is so much to be done!

What is one of your favorite San Francisco food experiences?
That I can eat a flaky croissant and cafe au lait for breakfast, dim sum for lunch, and a burrito for dinner. All made well and with fresh ingredients.

How do you envision putting this degree to work?
I would like to spend my lifetime pursuing culinary ethnography, telling the story of people through their food.
