Beyond my training in Sociology of Sport, I have an established Sport Science and Coaching background. My Bachelor's degree awarded by Durham University in 2000 contained modules dedicated to kinesiology, anatomy and physiology, sports psychology, pedagogy and coaching theory.
After completing my first degree, I spent 5 years in the Sports Management and Coaching industry. I was employed as a project director on a variety of sports-related outreach and coaching programs designed to promote social inclusion through sport. My duties included recruiting and managing coaching staff, organizing and coordinating programs, evaluating initiatives and serving as liaison with the key stakeholders.
I am also a Level II qualified Cricket Coach and have over 10 years' experience coaching cricket, field hockey and health-related fitness programs in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
