I started working at Verite Winery in Healdsburg, CA in June of 2005, about a month after graduation. I was hired to be the personal assistant to the French vigneron/winemaker, Pierre Seillan. Pierre makes wine for five different labels and acts in an advisory position for the red wine programs of at least three other wineries and so the bulk of my day is taken up organizing meetings and wine tastings for all these wine programs. Two of Pierre's wineries, Tenuta di Arceno and Chateau Lassegue are located in Italy and France, respectively, so I also act as liaison between these European wineries and Verite. In addition, I take care of the basic office managerial duties and help out in the tasting room whenever I can. I basically have a great time learning about wine, tasting wine and enjoying using the French that I have spent so many years learning on a regular basis!
