Our goal is for our students to graduate ready to start their careers as public leaders and empowered citizens. This means our students acquire both academic knowledge and skills, and they gain practical experience from encounters with real-life politics and government.

Pacific Political Science students:

  • Achieve a strong foundation in the study of politics and government by working with a committed faculty who are great teachers and engaged scholars.
  • Learn skills they can use in many careers, including research and analytical skills and policy analysis.
  • Get real-world experience through internship programs like the Sacramento Experience and Washington Semester programs.

Connections With Other Schools and Centers

Through our partnerships with Pacific's Jacoby Center for Public Service and Civic Leadership, the McGeorge Pacific School of Law and the School of International Studies, we provide students with opportunities that are normally available only at much larger universities.
