Learning involves the search for knowledge and understanding. In my view, this is best achieved by integrating lectures, class discussion, individual writing, the use of information technology, and small group work. While we will discuss events and developments happening around us in my classes, this discussion will be theoretically grounded and informed by an understanding of historical developments. Ultimately, I believe students get the most from their time here at Pacific when they take ownership of their education. My role is to facilitate this by creating an environment of shared responsibility and mutual respect.
