Teaching Statement

When teaching courses, my goal is to get students involved in the material. Hands on activities are an important part of all of my courses which allow students to understand and apply concepts covered in class. Too often, students are expected to memorize and understand concepts, and the creative side of learning and education are eliminated. Thus, the assignments and projects allow students to explore their creativity and apply it to course material.

Research Statement

My primary research interest focuses on the accuracy of eyewitness identification and the factors which can lead to misidentification. Other areas of research include navigation in virtual environments, gender differences in spatial ability, and perceived risk of developing heart disease in college students.
