Barbara Flaherty

For many years I have been working with images from ancient art as a visual language of the spirit.
I search the forms and images by drawing and painting from them, by copying, extrapolating and interpreting.
My painting technique is an interweaving of images and motifs, deconstructing and reconstructing my interpretations of these ancient artists and times.
It makes for a very contemporary and lyrical way of expressing our compressed experience of human history.
