As the liberal arts core of Pacific, we have a lot going on. Consider that the College of the Pacific houses the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities—18 departments in all plus additional programs such as Film Studies, Ethnic Studies and Gender Studies. The College is also home to the Jacoby Center, John Muir Center, and Humanities Center—all of which host and sponsor a variety of events on campus throughout the year.

The College Facebook page provides a single location where you can learn about happenings across the College as well as some University-wide announcements. Here is a list of recent posts:

  • An announcement about sign-ups for the relay for life at Pacific.

  • News about two professors whose work was featured in Scientific American.

  • An invitation to hang out at the GHES Center (Gender, Humanities, and Ethnic Studies) in the WPC.

  • Information about receiving assistance from a writing mentor through the Writing in the Disciplines Program.

  • Event details for a guest speaker hosted by the Political Science Department.

Department Facebook Pages

Each Department in the College has its own Facebook page maintained by its Student Representatives. The Department Facebook pages are an ideal way for existing and prospective students to know what's going on in a particular department.

Tip: While on the College Facebook page, you can easily access links to the Department Facebook pages by clicking "COP Department Fan Pages" on the left.
