Political Science and Sociology
Next fall two departments in the College of the Pacific will be offering courses focused on the presidential election.
The department of Political Science is offering "Campaigns and Elections" designed to introduce students to campaigns and elections in the U. S. political system, and their operations and influence on political outcomes.
The Sociology department's course "Politics & Society" will pay particular attention to the struggles of racial minorities, working people and women and how their struggles to expand their civil rights and civil liberties have made our system more democratic for all Americans.
The dynamic presidential campaigns underway and the November primary election will provide students with lively subjects for discussion.
For more information on either of these courses, please contact the Social Science office at 946-2101.
