The Conservatory of Music is one of the most diverse among conservatories and schools of music of its size in offering a wide variety of programs and degrees.
In addition to the traditional Bachelor of Music in Performance in all orchestra and band instruments, piano, and voice, our students can also pursue a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (with either an instrumental or choral emphasis), Music Therapy, Music Management, Music Composition, and Music History. We also have a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies, a Bachelor of Arts with a Concentration in Music Management, and a general Bachelor of Arts in Music. For those students who do not wish to pursue a career in music, but who are interested in learning more, we offer a Minor in Music, Music History, and Music Management. Our distinctive advantage is that with this variety of degree programs, we can find the perfect place for every one of our students, and we can watch them find employment in a variety of professional situations.
The Brubeck Institute, founded to honor the legacy and contributions of alumnus Dave Brubeck, '42, is connected to the Conservatory and offers a highly selective non-degree certificate for a small group of young jazz musicians.
