M.M./M.Ed. Music Education

Program Director: Ruth V. Brittin, Music Education Faculty.

The University of the Pacific's music education department offers two graduate degrees in music education: the Master of Music and the Master of Education.

The Master of Music degree is designed for candidates who have received an undergraduate degree in music education. The Master of Education degree is designed for those with a Bachelor's degree in music other than music education. The Master of Education leads to a California teaching credential. In general, the Master of Music includes more coursework in music, while the Master of Education includes more coursework in education courses.
