Thank you for your interest in the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific. We are primarily an undergraduate institution with approximately 230 students pursuing a wide variety of music degrees including performance (all orchestral instruments, piano and voice), jazz studies, music education, music therapy, music management, music history, and music composition.
With so many degree choices, we offer much more than is typical for an institution of our size, and that means at Pacific, you can find pathways to a life in music that you might not have considered. A number of students are pursuing dual degrees, one in music and one outside of music (for example Speech Pathology and Music).
While our graduates have pursued many different professional directions, that only begins to scratch the surface of the opportunities offered through an education in music, and of the value of music studies. We would be happy to discuss your interest in music and work to craft a path towards graduation that reflects your personal goals. Studying music is exciting, rewarding, exhilarating, maddening, demanding, tremendously satisfying, and one of the best choices you'll ever make. We hope to hear from you soon!
If you would like more information, please contact the office of Student Services at (209) 946-2418 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A campus tour is also highly recommended!
To begin the admission process, apply to the University of Pacific and declare that you want to be a music major. In addition, all Conservatory applicants, except Music Inudustry Studies applicants, must audition on an instrument or voice. If you have questions about the audition process or requirements, contact Jennifer Goodwin, Coordinator of Academic Affairs and Student Services. You can also watch our YouTube channel, where students describe the audition process and offer preparation tips.
