Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet

Aug 29, 2008

On Tuesday, July 22, 2008, the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet performed at the International Double Reed Conference on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The concert, held in the beautiful De Jong Concert Hall, was a featured event at the conference. A highlight was a performance by the Quintet of Voile de lune composed by Conservatory professor Dr. François Rose.  Also on the program was Conrad De Jong's Variations on a Spanish La Folia.  The concert was enthusiastically received by a very appreciative audience.  Members of Quintet performing were Patricia Shands, clarinet, Mat Krejci, flute, Tom Nugent, oboe, David Granger, bassoon, and Jennie Blomster, horn. All except for David Granger are currently faculty members of the Conservatory of Music. Guest performers at the annual conference include many of the world's renowned double reed artists.
