Tenor Daniel Ebbers in Britten’s Serenade

Tenor Daniel Ebbers will be a featured soloist at the Sunday, January 31st concert of the St. John’s Chamber Orchestra in Britten’s beautiful Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, op. 31. Britten wrote this haunting song cycle in 1943 for the celebrated horn player Dennis Brain and for his lifelong companion, tenor Peter Pears. The performance will also include orchestral pieces by Mahler, Bach, Beckler, and Meyer. St. John's Episcopal Church is located at the corner of El Dorado and Miner, downtown Stockton: the concert will begin at 5:00 P.M. Tickets are available at the door for $15.00 each.
