William Hipp named Interim Dean
William Hipp has joined the Conservatory of Music as Interim Dean for the 2007-08 school year. He served as Dean of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for the past 24 years. During his tenure, the Frost School of Music increased its enrollment, selectivity, and national stature; added important graduate programs; attracted faculty with national/international profiles; increased outreach programs; established international exchange programs and a summer program at Salzburg, Austria; constructed two new facilities; and raised more than $100 million.
Don DaGrade, Professor of Saxophone and Bassoon at the Conservatory of Music from 1970-2007, will serve as Associate Dean.
