Metropolitan areas covered by the forecast include Fresno, Merced, Modesto, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, and Stockton. The Forecast provides historical data and a 4-5 year forecast of key economic indicators such as employment by industry, labor force and unemployment rates, personal income, population growth, and housing starts for California and each metro area. Data and forecasts are provided in quarterly formats. Finally, the forecast also includes commentary and insight on key trends and issues impacting the state and regional economy. The Center issues a new forecast three times each year in January, May, and September.
