Awards & Recognition

Peter Hilsenrath's manuscript, "Health Expenditure Efficiency Implications for Pharmaceutical Marketing," was published in the International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing.

Peter Hilsenrath presented "Graduate Healthcare Management Education: History and Perspectives" at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, and at the 8th World Congress on Health Economics.

Peter Hilsenrath presented "Medication Therapy Management for Asthma: A Case Study in California" at the First International Symposium on the Economics of Asthma and Asthma Care in Toronto, Ontario.

Jeff Miles' book, Management and Organization Theory, is in production and is expected to be available in November 2011.

Chris Sablynski chaired an Industrial/Organizational Session and presented a co-authored paper, "The Relationship Between Job Embeddedness, Organizational Culture, and Organizational Politics," at the Western Psychological Association's 91st Annual Convention in Los Angeles.

Chris Sablynski's manuscript, "How Do Employees Invest Abundant Resources? The Mediating Role of Work Effort in the Job Embeddedness - Performance Relationship" was accepted for publication by the Journal of Applied Social Psychology.

Chris Sablynski and Stefanie Naumann presented an interactive Professional Development Workshop entitled, "Incorporating a Team Activity into University-Wide Learning Goals via the Pacific Production Game," at the 2011 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Ray Sylvester continues in his leadership role as Board Member and Vice President for Marketing & Member Benefits of Phi Kappa Phi and recently visited chapters in Reno, Baltimore, and Hawaii.

Stephen Wheeler presented "Teaching Intellectual Patience using Non-Traditional Techniques" at the American Accounting Association National Meeting in Denver, Co.

Thomas Brierton, Eberhardt School of Business, has his article, "The Law of Infant Waivers: Wong v. Lok's Martial Arts Centre Inc." published in the University of British Columbia Law Review. It was co-authored with Peter Bowal and John Rollett.

Sacha Joseph Mathews will be a panelist at the Marketing Management Association Fall Educator Conference in St. Louis on Sept 23rd. The panel discussion will be on "Academics, Achievement, Ethics: The Millennial View"

Stephen Wheeler presented "Teaching Intellectual Patience using Non-Traditional Techniques" at the American Accounting Association (AAA) National Meeting in Denver, Co. He was also Program Chair for the AAA Western Meeting in Newport Beach in April, and was named to the AAA's National Council to represent the western United States for a three year term beginning in 2011. He and Professor Cynthia Eakin also published a manuscript entitled, "Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisor Profiles and the Incentives to Serve," in Advances in Accounting Education.

Dan Wadhwani presented papers this summer at the Babson Entrepreneurship Research Conference at Syracuse University at the European Group for Organizational Studies at Gothenburg University in Sweden
