Gilbert Perez is a Research Associate with the Business Forecasting Center and provides research, analysis, production, and GIS support on various Center projects including the Regional Analyst series.
Gil received his B.A. in Geography with specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from California State University Stanislaus in 2012. He was recognized as a top-performing student winning the Dean’s Award of Excellence in Achievement Medal his senior year. As an undergrad, he completed an extensive electricity and natural gas consumption inventory report with the Great Valley Center in Modesto, CA to help local cities reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
A Merced, CA native, Gil returned to the San Joaquin Valley to complete his bachelor’s degree after working in the entertainment industry for over a decade as a sound editor for television, film, and video games in Los Angeles. He was Technical Music Director for DIC Entertainment, a children’s animation company, for eight of those years where he completed over five hundred half-hour shows for CBS’s Saturday morning programming block.
