The Eberhardt School of Business would not be what it is today without the amazing work and talent of Myrna Vick, Media Specialist. Originally hired as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Westgate Center for Management Development in 1994, her role has grown over the last 17 years to encompass all graphic design and media support for all academic programs, Centers and Institutes of the Eberhardt School of Business. As much as her colleagues value her incredible abilities and professional contributions, they equally value her fabulous spirit and sense of humor, and know that they can always depend on her for creative ideas and desired help.
Prior to joining the Pacific family, Myrna attended Delta College then worked for a local advertising agency for over 5 years where she learned about graphic design. She has continued to learn about the design process by taking classes with the County Office of Education, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Adobe, and the University of the Pacific. Today, Myrna is responsible for the design for all Eberhardt informational publications, advertising and promotional materials, websites, and the Strictly Business magazine!
When asked what she likes best about her job, she said "the people and the beautiful campus - I have the best job at Pacific! The business school is so supportive and encouraging in all aspects of continued learning on the job. They help me improve my job skills to become more effective and efficient in my role with software and hardware updates, online training, classes, etc. - it's amazing to have this type of support in a job. And, it's been like this since day one, not just for me but for all of the Eberhardt School staff - I feel so blessed and honored to work with the amazing faculty and staff at the business school - I love my job!"
One of the things that Myrna loves most about Pacific is Commencement - she hasn't missed a single commencement celebration in the 17 years she has worked for the school! She said, "I love watching all of our students and their families come together to celebrate the graduates' achievements as they enter the next phase of their lives."
Myrna has much to celebrate in her personal life, too. She has been married for 26 years to her husband Tim (Captain with the Lathrop-Manteca Fire Department) and is the proud mom of Travis (22, musician), Taylor (19, student), and Tasha (12, golden retriever). In her free time she enjoys music and travel. In the past year she has traveled to Italy, Germany, and Canada.
