Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Ed Arnheiter teaches operations management in the Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific. Prior to this faculty appointment, he taught statistics, operations research, and operations management for five years at the Sacramento campus of Drexel University. While at Drexel, Dr. Arnheiter received the Dean's Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award from the LeBow College of Business and was appointed a Fellow, Center for Teaching Excellence. Before relocating from Connecticut, Dr. Arnheiter worked for 12 years as a clinical professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

In addition to his 18 years teaching, Dr. Arnheiter has eleven years of industrial experience, including roles as a Quality Manager for Titleist and FootJoy, a Quality Engineer at GE Aerospace, and a Senior Quality Engineer for Spalding Sports. He is the principal consultant for Arnheiter Consulting, LLC, which focuses on the implementation and use of Lean Sigma improvement methodologies. From March 2013 to August 2015, Dr. Arnheiter conducted Lean Sigma training for Chevron Corporation at its facilities in San Ramon and Bakersfield, CA, and Houston, TX, and project mentoring and support on the California Central Coast for Chevron's Environmental Management Company (EMC). Most recently, he conducted Lean Sigma Green Belt training and mentoring sessions for CrescentCare Health systems in New Orleans, LA.

In addition to teaching and consulting, he has published and presented numerous papers, book chapters, and case studies on lean management, Six Sigma, process improvement, and quality management. His research investigates novel applications of lean Six Sigma methods to improve processes in health care, education, and traditional manufacturing.

Formerly a New England resident, Dr. Arnheiter earned a Ph.D. in industrial engineering operations research, and a master of science in engineering management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
