Types of Tutoring
The center offers three types of tutoring: 1.) scheduled, 2.) open hours, and 3.) special appointments. Scheduled appointments are done in one-hour increments to allow others to have access to the tutors and one hour is very close to the optimal length for a tutoring session for most subjects. Open hours are usually held for three hours at a time and a tutee may receive as much time as the tutor is able to give during that time.
Scheduled
- Made no more than three weeks in advance and no less than 24 hours before the appointment
- One-on-one tutoring with one hour increments
- Must be made in person no more than 3 weeks in advance
- Any appointments scheduled between 8:30 AM-12:00 PM must be made no later than 9:00 PM the day before
- Same day appointments must be made before 12:00 PM
Open Hours
- No appointment needed, first-come, first-served basis
- Sign in with tutorial clerk upon arrival
- Not guaranteed one-on-one attention; it may be a group session
Special Appointments
The center staff will do their best to contact tutors to schedule a special appointment when OPEN HOURS are full. Please note that while most of the time our tutors are able to make special appointments, this is not a guarantee.
