The Tomorrow Project

We believe that our region's prosperity - its capacity for creating and sustaining fulfilling work, its ability to cultivate a rich cultural landscape, its power to extend a wealth of opportunity to all its residents - depends on education.

A centerpiece of University of the Pacific President Pamela A. Eibeck's Beyond Our Gates initiative, The Tomorrow Project increases the college readiness of K - 12 students so that they can successfully compete in higher education. In a larger sense, The Tomorrow Project contributes to our region's social, economic and civic growth. Pacific, in collaboration with local schools, governmental agencies and nonprofit groups, has launched three new Tomorrow Project Academies, including the foundational Prep - USA Reach for the Stars, which focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and Harmony Stockton, an innovative music academy. The Tomorrow project demonstrated that together, we can shape the future of public school education in San Joaquin County in important, meaningful ways.

"The Tomorrow Project Academies provide a rich learning environment that promotes self-confidence, discipline and critical thinking in some of Stockton's most disadvantaged youth, the very children who are our community's future." - University of the Pacific President Pamela A. Eibeck

Overarching goals include:

  • Increasing the number of graduating high school seniors in San Joaquin County, and especially in Stockton, who meet California's four-year college academic admission requirements
  • Increasing the number of local youth attending University of the Pacific and other universities by at least 10 percent
