Mathematics is a beautiful subject. It builds on itself, it is systematic and logical, and it is the language of science.
Many people have a fear of math. When I tell people I teach math, most say they were never any good at math. These people are unable to see its beauty.
My goal is to help students overcome their fear, so that they, too, can do math and recognize its beauty.
Because math builds on itself so much, it is critical to master the basic skills in math. Conquering simpler concepts gives one the confidence and skills critical to future success. Once one has those, one can build on them and extend them to more complicated topics.
As an instructor in the Math Lab at Pacific, I have a unique opportunity to help students build the foundation they need to be successful in their education and life.
