“In order to get from what was to what will be, you must go through what is.”
This saying has been posted near my desk throughout my career as a teacher, counselor, and supervisor, and it sums up very nicely what I enjoy most—helping people grow by using what they have learned in the past to become who they will be in the future.
As Director of Field Experience, it is exciting for me to see the transition from “student” to “teacher” as the students journey through Directed Teaching—taking what they have learned at Pacific and seeing the application come to life in the face of a child.
In my job I wear many hats: administrator, liaison, cheerleader, parent, counselor, teacher, friend.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
