Research Interests
As a critical theorist/feminist researcher, my research seeks to address social inequalities that arise from gender and class and through scholarship, offer remedies for mitigating disparate treatment of frequently marginalized groups.
Specifically, my research interests focus on the role of part-time faculty in community colleges in particular and the academy in general.
While current research often focuses on the working conditions of part-time faculty, I am interested in exploring systems that do not exploit their contingent faculty, but rather encourage and cultivate the many talents they bring to the learning experience.
Additionally, I am interested in educational leadership and practice: How can we cultivate strong, effective leaders for the future?
Developing new theories and approaches will help ensure success for many generations of students.
