Mary Little
Hello Everyone!
It is a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful University, the Educational Resource Center and the Benerd School of Education. Although working with my students and colleagues is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity, it comes with a huge obligation: to teach, and to teach well.
My goals as an instructor are to instill in my students a lifelong enjoyment of reading. I also want to provide them with effective strategies and guidelines to help them succeed as independent learners at the University of the Pacific and beyond. Students in the new millennium are indeed facing challenges my generation never dreamed of: "It is a truism to say that the 21st century is bringing more to read, more ways to read it, and more reasons to be an effective reader than ever before" (Pugh, Pawean, & Antommarchi, 2000).
