Meet Dean Lynn Beck
Almost 10 years ago the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future articulated an "audacious goal." This goal was nothing short of ensuring that every student in America regularly and consistently learned with and from "caring, competent, and qualified" educators.
In the Gladys L. Benerd School of Education this audacious goal is alive and well! Faculty, staff, and students are challenged by it because we realize that there are still many who are not well-served by our educational systems. We are driven by it because we recognize that the work of preparing and supporting excellent, focused, compassionate teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and citizens is central to the realization of our goal. And we are inspired by it because we know that its achievement will mean that the lives of those with whom we work will be better and happier.
I invite you to explore these web pages to learn more about the Benerd School of Education. And I invite you to visit us in person. I would be delighted to show you around, to introduce you to the talented faculty, staff, and students, and to share more about our outstanding programs!
