Degree Authorization

The first step in the formal process of completing a graduate degree is to file an  Application for Graduation form at the Graduate School in the Office of Research and Graduate Studies during the first week of the final semester.  This form indicates your intention to complete the degree that semester, and will be used to order the diploma.  Consequently make sure all of the information is correct. 

The Application for Graduation Form also initiates the degree audit process, in which the Graduate School verifies that degree candidates will complete all requirements by the end of the semester and are therefore eligible to receive the degree.

NOTE: The Application for Graduation Form is valid only for one semester. Therefore, if a student fails to complete degree requirements in the intended semester, a new form must be submitted for the new semester of graduation.
