TIE Program & Space

Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Program
The TIE program is an ecosystem of curricular and co-curricular programs that supports innovation and entrepreneurship at University of the Pacific. To create an environment and culture that will inspire Pacific students to become true innovators, the program revolves around:

  • Courseworks that introduce fundamental theory and promote practical hands-on experiential learning
  • Academic programs such as TIE minor and Entrepreneurship
  • Physical locations, such as TIES and The Cube
  • Student competitions and clubs
  • Workshop series to develop and strengthen an entrepreneurship mindset
  • Develop partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Office of Technology Licensing, Library Technology and Digital Initiatives, Venturewell and venture capitalists
  • Create the Pacific Industrial Park to nurture start-ups

Technological and Entrepreneurship Space (TIES)
TIES is an innovation maker space that was established in South Campus in 2015 to support the TIE program. Funding from a University SEED grant was provided to install rapid prototyping machines, a CNC mill, laser cutter, and other equipment to support the "making" of prototypes.

The Cube
The TIES is in collaboration with the Library's, The Cube, a new glass-walled experiential learning space.
