Five Year Master of Science Degree in Applied International Economics
Pacific 2020, The University's new strategic plan, commits us to "preparing our students for tomorrow's careers by providing them with exceptional job readiness for the competitive challenges of today's global labor market."
With this in mind, the School of International Studies now offers an accelerated path to a 5-year Master of Science degree in Applied International Economics (MSAE) in collaboration with Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marquette's MSAE has a proven record of developing the data analysis skills so highly valued in today's labor market by both private and public sector employers.
Who is this for? This program is designed for SIS students who are also interested in economics and quantitative analysis. Students would complete their BA degree at SIS in the typical 4-year timeframe.
Interested? Those interested in pursuing the MS must inform their academic advisers of their intent by the time they achieve junior standing. The advisers will then direct these students to take either the GRE or GMAT exam, apply to the MSAE program during the first semester of their final year at Pacific, and complete any remaining prerequisites (see the SIS catalog for more details).
Students accepted by Marquette can then complete the MSAE with one year of residency there.
NOTE: Admission to the MSAE program is at the sole discretion of Marquette and is not guaranteed. Students accepted into the MSAE program are eligible to apply for merit-based financial aid at Marquette.
