Karisa Cloward

Karisa Cloward graduated from Pacific in 2003 with degrees in International Relations and Economics. She is currently Assistant Professor of Political Science at Southern Methodist University in Texas.

Karisa studied abroad at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia and at a European Union program in Freiburg, Germany. After graduating from SIS, she worked as a research assistant at the Economics Institute of Belgrade. She also ran the City of Stockton's successful 2004 All-America City campaign.

In 2004, Karisa began a Ph.D. in Political Science at Yale University. She completed field research in Kenya that addressed how different Maasai communities respond to international activism against female genital mutilation and child marriage. She earned her doctorate in 2010.
