Faculty and Departments
The Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences is composed of five departments: Physiology & Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics & Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacy Practice, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology.
Physiology and Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharmacy Practice offer our students the opportunity to explore their careers as part of a multidisciplinary program. With courses taught by professors from each department, the students receive exceptional learning tools that will prepare them to be excellent health care professionals in clinical and patient settings, teaching, becoming executives in health care organizations, and/or work in interdisciplinary research/development teams.
We are proud to produce more graduates than any other pharmacy school in California and are pleased to continue to receive positive feedback about the roles of pharmacists. In December 2010, pharmacists were ranked as the top three professions as honest and ethical practitioners by the Gallup Annual Honesty and Ethics survey. To view the full article, click here.
Our physical therapy students continue to make strong representations at state and national levels and are active participants in legislative advocacy for the physical therapy profession. Our alumni are also making headlines with more than 10 alumni receiving specialist recognition at the Association of Physical Therapy annual meeting last year.
For the past 16 years, our speech-language pathology students have never missed a mark on scoring a 100% passage rate on the Praxis exam on the first attempt.
