Dr. Abood received both his bachelor of science and his juris doctorate from University of Nebraska. He started teaching at Pacific in 1991 and retired in January 2014. His favorite thing about teaching at Pacific was the interaction with students and faculty. He finds the people at Pacific to be a wonderful, collegial and respectful group of people.
When asked about his teaching philosophy Dr. Abood responded, "to stimulate critical thinking and application of material and to make lectures interesting and informative. I would also like to add value. My classes are reading intensive and if they can get it out of the book then there is no use coming to class. So I like to think that I can add value making it worth coming to class."
In his free time he enjoys cycling and working out - lifting weights, aerobic and anaerobic. He likes to raise fruit trees. He grows apples, peaches, nectarines, cherries, lemons, oranges, pecans, figs, grapes, blackberries and more (if you can believe it). In addition, he enjoys reading and fly fishing. Dr. Abood also has two grown children.
