Joel Wagner, PharmD earned a bachelor of science in marine biology from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1966. He earned his doctor of pharmacy from University of Southern California in 1970. He then completed his residency in clinical pharmacy at the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in intensive care therapy at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. After finishing his fellowship, he continued to work at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and Burn Unit.
He has been at Pacific since 1988. He loves teaching at Pacific because of the camaraderie among faculty, staff and students. Watching students acquire the knowledge and develop the skills to become a professional health care practitioner brings him joy. One of his goals is to establish a dermatology component in healthcare clinics.
Dr. Wagner's membership in professional organizations includes the American Pharmacists Association, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the California Pharmacists Association.
Dr. Wagner is a California native originally from Los Angeles, where he spent most of his time at the beach surfing. He is married with two daughters, and a grandson and a granddaughter. Dr. Wagner enjoys Stockton for the friendliness of the people and its spring and fall seasons. Dr. Wagner's hobbies include golf and ocean activities. He enjoys sushi and hopes to one day travel to Italy, France, Ireland and England.
