Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for academic training, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be in good academic standing at the school named on your DS-2019.
- The academic training must be related directly to your major field of study.
- Must maintain your J-1 student status, apply for extensions as necessary.
- Must maintain health insurance coverage for yourself and any J-2 dependents during the entire time you participate in an Exchange Visitor Program.
- Must obtain an offer letter with the following information:
- Name/Address of Employer
- Brief Job Description
- Name of the Supervisor
- Exact Dates of Employment
