SUCCESS Services
Academic Assistance
SUCCESS provides individualized academic assistance with course selection as some students may need to work around additional responsibilities or barriers. Students receive other types of academic assistance designed to meet their needs and assist in academic success. The program provides a variety of workshops, seminars, and orientations to assist its students.
Financial Aid Assistance
The financial aid process in college may be confusing. SUCCESS can provide assistance and "de-mystify" the process.
Graduate and Professional School Admissions and Financial Aid Assistance
SUCCESS has a library of graduate and professional resources that students can use to obtain information on graduate and/or professional schools and financial aid information.
Career Development Activities
Often times, students require additional information to select a career goal. Students receive services to assist with career selection and receive referrals as appropriate.
Personal Adjustment to College
SUCCESS works with students on an individual and small group basis to facilitate a smooth transition from high school or junior college to a private, four year university.
Workshops, Seminars, Orientations
SUCCESS provides a variety of workshops, seminars, and orientations to assist its students with both personal and academic adjustment to college.
Computer Lab
The SUCCESS program has a Computer Lab with on-line services available for current participants. Prior to using the computer, participants must complete a brief computer orientation session.
Graduate School Forum
SUCCESS provides an opportunity for students to take part in a yearly forum held at various institutions of higher education throughout Northern California. The forum includes workshops regarding graduate school admissions, and financial aid for graduate schools, but most importantly students are able to meet with representatives from over 100 of the nation's leading graduate schools.
