Certification Courses

American Red Cross Classes
Campus Recreation offers American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification classes. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications carry a 2-year certification with the American Red Cross.  Please Note: This class is intended for the lay responder and is not for the healthcare provider! 

CPR/AED & First Aid for the Lay Responder
Training will combine lecture and interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments, as well as hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.

CPR Adult: Participants will learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults.

AED: Participants will learn how and when to use an automatic external defibrillator.

First Aid: Participants will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies.

CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer with First Aid (upon request)
Training will combine lecture and interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments, as well as hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.

Upcoming Classes
Participants will sign up for an Online Skills section and a Skills Demonstration section.  The Online Skills section can be done on your own, then you must schedule a Skills Demonstartion to apply the information from the Online Skills section.  Upon completion of the Online Skills section, an appointment with an instructor must be scheduled prior to the Skills Demonstration deadline.

Please note that there is an Online Skills deadline and a Skills Demonstration deadline.  Once you complete the Online Skills section, you will need to schedule an appointment with the instructor before the Skills Demonstration Deadline.  The Online Skills section will take between 90-120 minutes while the Skills Demonstration section will take an estimated 45 minutes.  

Registration Fees: $35/person for lay responder $45/person for professional rescuer. Each class is limited to 12 people. Note: All classes will be held inside the Baun Student Fitness Center.
