Community Involvement Program Adopts Cleveland Elementary School

Nov 12, 2009
The Community Involvement Program, in collaboration with the Enough is Enough Campaign, has partnered with Cleveland Elementary School; adopting them as part of their outreach to our community. CIP students are volunteering their time to help continue Cleveland Elementary's tutorial program which, due to funding cuts, would otherwise be eliminated. A common bond that the Community Involvement Program's students share with the youth at Cleveland Elementary is that they are low-income and most Carnival at Cleveland Elementary School, Stockton, CAof them are first-generation as well. Along with the tutorial program, CIP students have worked with Cleveland's Parent Teacher Association to help run Cleveland's Fall Carnival on Friday, October 16, 2009. Many CIP students helped share their Pacific spirit while face painting, running game booth's and food stands. The appearance of the PowerCat also helped bring joy to the faces of the young students! We look forward to continuing our partnership with Cleveland and with many others in our community.
