Choosing a Hearing Officer or a Student Condcut Review Board

In most instances, the respondent may choose to meet with either a hearing officer or a review board. In certain circumstances the Vice President of Student Life may, at his or her discretion, determine whether the matter is heard by a hearing officer or a review board.

Who Serves as Hearing Officers and Board Members

Student Life professional staff, Athletic Department administrators, and faculty members, serve as the Student Conduct Hearing Officer. He or she is responsible for reviewing and determining responsibility for allegations of student code violations.

A Student Conduct Review Board is comprised of five people: three students, one faculty member, and one administrator. A Judicial Officer provides staff support for the Review Board. A student member serves as the Review Board chair.
