Living through Loss: Picking up the Pieces

The death of a parent, sibling, or close loved one forever changes your life. It doesn't matter whether your loss is new or years old, you have been changed, and you may continue to hurt, wonder why, feel angry or wonder if all your feelings and thoughts are normal. The group: Living through Loss: Picking up the Pieces, is a support group of your peers who have experienced the death of a close family member. This group breaks the isolation that can characterize a single loss and offers hope, healing, and a confidential place where you are understood because you are sitting with peers who, like you, have been through a significant loss. If interested, please call us at 209.946.2315. ext 2 to arrange to meet with the group facilitator.

Managing your Moods

If you have difficulty managing your emotions (a.k.a. feel like you are constantly on an emotional rollercoaster) or find it hard to tolerate distressing feelings and situations -this group may be for you. Managing your Moods is a skills-based group based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Specifically, the group aims to help members cope with life's struggles and changes through mindfulness training, problem solving exercises, increasing distress tolerance and enhancing interpersonal effectiveness. As you work toward a better understanding of your emotions this group will provide you with the opportunity to receive support, as well as provide support to others. Group members must be in concurrent individual therapy to participate in this group. If interested, please call us at 209.946.2315. ext 2 to arrange to meet with Dr. Kristina Dulcey-Wang, group facilitator.

Mindfulness for Stress Reduction

This 4 week  group includes an introduction to mindfulness meditation that aims to develop ways of being in relation to self and the environment. Members will practice a variety of guided meditations during group with time for self-reflection and process. This curriculum serves as a foundation for the cultivation of internal resources, positive health behaviors and emotional resilience that can be utilized across stressful experiences that may arise from psychological conditions and everyday life. This group is recommended for those with stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, interpersonal concerns, as well as those seeking wellness and balance.  Members will be supported as they cultivate their own mindfulness practice outside of group that can be utilized far beyond the completion of the group and across the life span. If interested, please call us at 209.946.2315. ext 2.
