Introduction: Students with Learning Disabilities
In recent years, the Americans with Disabilities Act and state and local policies have mandated equal access to our institutions of higher education.
Students with disabilities have shown themselves eager to respond to this civil rights legislation; they have entered colleges and universities in numbers unheard of a generation ago.
Pacific Alumni with disabilities are now succeeding in graduate and professional programs and the world of work; our current students can be found across all majors and programs, and we anticipate more incoming students with disabilities in years to come.
We have much to be proud of; we are the first generation in American history to take seriously the inclusion of those with disabilities into our larger culture.
