The emotional dimension of wellness emphasizes an awareness and acceptance of one's feelings.  Emotional wellness includes the degree to which one feels positive and enthusiastic about oneself and life.  It includes the capacity to manage one's feelings and related behaviors including the ability to cope effectively with stress.  The emotionally well person maintains satisfying relationships with others.

At Pacific:

Counseling Services 

Counseling Services at the University of the Pacific provides assistance to students who are encountering depression, anxiety, adjustment problems and/or who are experiencing emotional distress. Our therapists are trained to aid students in building self-confidence, making healthy choices, choosing assertive communication, relating to others, developing/solidifying identity, and working with more serious mental health concerns.

Pride Center
The Pacific PRIDE Resource Center provides resources for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGTBQIA) community, friends, and family at Pacific. The PRIDE Resource Center welcomes a diverse population of ethnic, religious, political and cultural values while promoting understanding and acceptance for those marginalized as a result of sexual/gender orientation. Located in the Multicultural center, open Monday-Thursday 4:00-8:00 p.m

Women's Resource Center
Located inside the Multicultural Center on the ground level of the McCaffrey Center. The purpose of the center is to promote awareness of women's and gender issues and celebrate and cultivate women's leadership on campus and beyond. The Women's Resource Center is used for meetings and events, and serves as a resource for gender equality and campus violence prevention.

Baun Fitness Center
The Baun Fitness Center (BFC) is the flagship facility for Pacific Recreation's innovative programs and services that include RecSports, Sport Clubs, TigerX classes, Tiger Training, and Tiger Escapes.

One Word Project
The Pacific One Word Project began in the fall of 2008 as an innovative idea to provide first year students a common point of personal reflection that would help them express their level of self awareness and connect to future aspirations.

Do you have questions about nutrition? Would you like to learn more about healthy eating? Nutrition services are available to all students who have paid the Cowell Wellness Center fee. Residence Life
The Pacific community is made up of students, faculty and staff who live and work together. Living in Pacific's residential campus community, students will find their pursuit of knowledge enhanced, their range of cultural and social opportunities expanded, and that they will learn not just from each other, but about themselves. In the residence halls, lifelong friendships take root, and the experience can engender a whole new definition of "family" and "home."

Morris Chapel
Morris Chapel serves as the religious center for all of Pacific's students. While the chapel has its foundations in the Methodist church, it now serves as a non-denominational church, welcoming students of all faiths.

American Psychological Association (APA) Help Center
The APA Help Center has information on a variety of issues, such as work, school, family, relationships, health, emotional wellness, disasters and health insurance. Check out their resilience tips, suggestions on learning to deal with stress and ideas on how to reduce graduation anxiety.

Management Library
The Free Management Library is a comprehensive resources regarding the leadership and management of yourself, other individuals, and groups. This resource is best suited for conflict resolution within group settings and formal organizations, rather than personal two party conflicts.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
Provides 24-hour crisis line, community outreach and education and support groups for individuals who have lost someone to suicide. You can also call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to talk to a counselor at a Lifeline crisis center near you.

National Domestic Violence Hotline 
The National Domestic Violence Hotline creates access by providing 24-hour support through advocacy, safety planning, resources and hope to everyone affected by domestic violence. You can also call 1-800-799-SAFE(7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

National Eating Disorder Association
NEDA supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders, and serves as a catalyst for prevention cures and access to quality care.

GLAAD  (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation)
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively. By ensuring that the stories of LGBT people are heard through the media, GLAAD promotes understanding, increases acceptance, and advances equality.

Mental Health America
Educate the general public about the realities of mental health and mental illness. Find support groups, local affiliates and treatment options.

Go Ask Alice! is an informative Q&A website for college students on topics including sexual health, sexuality, nutrition, stress, anxiety, suicide prevention, relationships and more. This website is a project of Columbia University.
