What Is ServiceNow?

ServiceNow, or SNOW, is a self-service portal that will provide a single location to request IT services across the Pacific community.

ServiceNow supports the larger Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) program initiative recently adopted and implemented by Pacific Technology. ITSM provides best practices for IT service delivery by realizing efficiencies; creating repeatable, measurable processes; and developing methods for continuous improvements in order to sustain and improve the desired levels of customer satisfaction for IT services.

ServiceNow will enable ITSM by creating the ability for all three campuses to record incidents, problems, and changes into a single database. The data collected will be evaluated as well as trended to increase the level of customer service.

What does SNOW mean for the End User?
In SeviceNow, an end user is defined as any student, staff, faculty, or even a guest of the Pacific community who uses IT service. With ServiceNow, an end user can:

  • Report an Incident (Something is broken)
  • Submit a Request (I need something)
  • Access knowledge & FAQs (I need information)
  • Use the online portal to check the status of IT requests
  • Receive email updates about submitted requests and incidents
  • See notifications on the availability of IT services, including any failed services or upcoming outages
