Non-credit Bearing Internships & Compensation

Eberhardt undergraduates have the option to pursue non-credit bearing internships during the academic term and summer. During the school year, students are encouraged to work 20 hours per week or less, as negotiated with the employer. During the summer, students are typically able to work regular full-time hours and are generally available from late May through mid-August. These positions can be paid or unpaid experiences.

Most internship experiences are paid positions for which students are expected to contribute to the company's or department's operations. Consider these suggestions for Building a Great Internship.

Many internship opportunities do not qualify as "unpaid". Generally, unpaid internships are those that provide a significant training component designed to be a learning experience. To determine if your internship meets the standards as an unpaid experience, please refer to the NACE article on Unpaid Internships and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
