Dean's Welcome

Welcome to University of the Pacific and to the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Pacific is a vibrant community that provides an engaging atmosphere for the continued development of socially responsible and globally-conscience adults. At Pacific, we are committed to providing a superior, student-centered learning experience and preparing individuals for lasting achievement and responsible leadership in their careers and communities. With over 8,000 professional alumni, nearly 100 faculty and staff and more than 600 professional students, our community provides a network of support and guidance for your student.

I am reminded on a daily basis that the quality of every moment our students spend in school is the measure of our impact as an educational institution, and that our focus needs to be on their present experience as much as it is on their future preparedness. Associated with a strong tradition of student-centered learning and service, the School's faculty are actively involved in scholarship. While I am extremely proud of the faculty's unmatched commitment to education, we are also leaders in research. This energy and effort sparks insight and discovery that lights up our classrooms and laboratories with an exciting and vital glow. Pacific's current facilities include state of the art classrooms, technology and well equipped laboratories. What we do at Pacific--the caring, the nurturing, the cutting edge-- is what makes us both vital and distinctive.
