School is hectic. It’s pretty much a career. That is why
the weekends are so important for relaxation. Restaurants are a
great place to socialize with friends. I LOVE SEAFOOD! And when
I want really fresh seafood, I go to Monterey or San Francisco.
Monterey is gorgeous. There is just something relaxing about being
in nature and seeing the sunset against the ocean. San Francisco
has probably the best Chinese restaurants. After shopping the whole
day in Union Square, there is nothing like sitting down and having
a big plate of Chinese food.
If you really want to be in the middle of it all, Lake Tahoe is
a three-hour drive away. It still amazes me how big and beautiful
it is!
Me, I’m not too much of a skier, but going innertubing is
fun especially when the weather is right. Not too far from the lake
is a resort area where you can tour the set of the old television
show Bonanza. It’s pretty cool! You can ride on the horses,
and they even serve you a ranch-style breakfast. There is Yosemite,
too! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! It’s amazing to climb up
to the top of Half Dome and look out into the landscape.
Sacramento is also really close—great for just walking around.
There’s a really fantastic exhibit in the State Capitol Building,
with displays from each county of California. The diversity is amazing!
It’s great that Stockton is in the middle of it all. If you want to try new things, grab a friend and explore.
