College of the Pacific
Gender Studies
For over a decade we've been a thriving interdisciplinary consortium of faculty, staff, and students committed to both a curricular and cultural environment supportive of the study of gender.
We invite you to explore:
- the social construnction of masculine and feminine identities
- how gender intersects with nationality, race, ethnicity, and class
- the way in which gender identities are redefined over time
- gender representations in art, film, and literature
- how gender impacts the practice of science, health, and medicine
Our broad approach to gender studies transcends traditional women’s studies and includes a collaboration with the PRIDE Center, the Humanities Center, and the Ethnic Studies Program.
